The Do's and Don'ts for Networking as an Actor

I had a fantastic conversation with my friend and colleague, Seamus Sargent, an actor who's really making waves in the industry. Seamus started his career with the Blue Man Group and has since worked on notable projects like "German Genius," "The Billion Dollar Code," and "The Head."

During our conversation, Seamus shared some valuable insights about finding success in acting. He discussed his unconventional approach to networking and job hunting in the acting industry, stressing the need for authenticity and resilience. He even spilled the beans and shared some practical tips on how to reach out to industry professionals and how to make a lasting impression.

He also talked about the power of building real connections with people who inspire you. These relationships can open doors and help you grow both in your career and personally. He also emphasized the importance of being kind and using humor, balancing work and life, and staying flexible and determined.

His journey shows that sticking with it and keeping a positive attitude can make a huge difference. Whether you’re just starting out or trying to reignite your career, Seamus' advice offers valuable lessons, especially for those who sometimes think networking can be… well… awkward.
